Kathy, was born and raised in Colorado where she played competitive golf as a junior and amateur winning the 1986 Colorado State Stroke Play and Match Play Junior Championships and the 1988 Colorado State Amateur Championship. She earned a scholarship and competed on the University of Wyoming women’s golf team graduating with a degree in teaching. She taught at both the elementary and high school level and headed up a large junior golf program in Northern Colorado prior to moving to Phoenix. In 1994 she earned PGA Class A and LPGA Class A status and began her teaching and coaching career with the pilot LPGA-USGA Girls Golf program in Phoenix. She was hired in 1997 to direct the program where her passion for girls’ golf and commitment to providing engaging opportunities for youth flourished. For nearly 20 years, Kathy touched the lives of thousands of junior golfers ages 3-18 through developmental golf clinics, tournaments and family golf outings and has had the pleasure of helping girls reach their goals and potential in the game through an environment which nurtures camaraderie, social skills, greater self esteem and specific golf skills.
Kathy is a mother of 3 daughters, twins who competed on the University of Wyoming Women's Golf team and youngest attending Maryville University in Missouri competing on the Women's Volleyball team.
Kathy directed the JGAA Linkster Program, served on the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf National Advisory committee, the JGAA Board of Directors and Arizona Silverbelle Board of Directors as Tournament Director and was voted the 2013 Youth Coach of the Year by the Phoenix Sports Commission and winner of the 2013 LPGA Central Section Junior Golf Achievement Award.
